Yes. She says yes and I am off and running, already certain this will be an ass-kicking semester in the best ways. It won’t be easy. This woman is a master of narrative tension – something my stories lack. She respects the poetic in prose, but never pays it higher respects than the arc of narrative itself. She can make two ordinary neighbors with small personality quirks go to the grocery story and get attention from the best literary journal in the country, then publish it hardback in a collection and blow her colleagues outta the water; she is that good.
