Interview with Philip Hartigan

Ahoy, dear blog readers!
Friday, July 29th 2011 is the
6th BLOGIVERSARY of The Writing Life!
That’s six years of 5-7 posts per week that have carried this writer through temporary
employment, self employment, graduate school, literary awards, rejections,
19 months of life on the road, and countless miles across the United States.
Artist, faculty member at Columbia College Chicago, and fellow blogger Philip Hartigan
has helped celebrate the occasion by interviewing me for his weekly artist conversation. Enjoy
and–as always–thanks for reading. The Writing Life wouldn’t be what it is without a
audience and for that I have all of you to sincerely thank. Your comments, emails,
letters of support, questions, and shared stories over the past six years have
meant more than you can know. As author Pete Fromm says,
“Writing is a solo sport, but none of us can ever do it completely alone.”
