DAY 5/10 #deeprest

Which is to say…something starts to shift for me and in me… Since December, I’ve been intentionally resting, slowing doing, stopping the lists and to-do’s dead in their tracks. In a sense, this month’s 10-day challenge has been in the works for 8 weeks or more.

I’m starting to experience the cumulative effect of these efforts. For several weeks now, I’ve been naturally waking around 5:20am and claiming 40-60 minutes of writing time to myself, beside the fire, in the near dark. The only thing that stops me is my son waking up.

It is…utterly healing.

And yes, it’s “doing something,” but there is NO WAY I’d have the psychospiritual (let alone mental or creative) energy to do this, especially with no alarm, if I hadn’t been actively engaging in this #mindsetshift and deep rest for several months.

This morning I got a full 80 minutes in this silent, lightening, peaceful, space of permission. Bliss? Quite possibly so…
