Best Small Fictions 2016

Today I’d like to celebrate the hard work of two writers and editors I respect: Stuart Dybek and Tara L. Masih. Together, they edited the second installment of the Best Short Fictions anthology, culling some of today’s finest short form fiction into a perfectly-sized, remarkable anthology that’s great for discovering new authors, reading trusted favorites, or teaching this exciting genre of stories that are 1,000 words or less. The anthology was an Editor’s Pick last month for New Pages, which offered this compelling review. It’s available through Amazon, Amazon UK, Barnes & Noble, and by request at my indie bookstores nationwide. Although I didn’t make the final cut this year (“Paddy the Albino” was a finalist, originally published here), many excellent writers did, and I can’t wait to get my copy.
